NUMBERS: Riders are to provide their own numbers which must be a minimum 100mm high. Please leave room for METZELER stickers (190mm x 30mm) which are be enclosed with these final instructions. YOU are responsible for having the correct number backgrounds, they will NOT be provided. It is a condition of the ACU METZELER sponsorship that the stickers provided MUST be used. Your bike must be scrutineered BEFORE you sign-on.

START/FINISH/PARC FERME: The start will be at LLANDOVERY RUGBY CLUB, just off the A40 (T) in Llandovery. The first rider starts at 09:01 a.m. on SATURDAY and at 09:01 a.m. on SUNDAY. The start order will be Championship, Expert, Veteran, Clubman and sub class order E3, E1 and E2

There will be a compulsory Parc Ferme for all motorcycles on both the Friday and Saturday nights. All motorcycles left within the Parc Ferme MUST have a legitimate registration number (registration numbers can be confirmed at Signing on) and MUST be locked by the owner with a minimum of a disc lock. The club strongly advise that all competitors bring their own padlock and chain. (remember to keep the key with you). All motorcycle petrol taps MUST be turned off whilst in the Parc Ferme. Any motorcycle not complying with these requirements will not be covered by the ACU insurance.

The Parc Ferme will be in a locked fenced area and overnight security will be in operation.

CAMPING: Is available at the Rugby Club however, the campsite at the club is now run as a commercial enterprise; therefore anyone wishing to make use of the facilities there will have to negotiate directly with the Rugby Club. WTRA as the event organisers have no interest in and take NO responsibility for camping arrangements!

FIRST AID: Will be provided by the Brecon District St John's Ambulance Brigade. The nearest casualty hospital is at Carmarthen.

MACHINE EXAMINATION/SIGNING ON: Machine examination and signing on will be between 12:00pm and 18:00 on Friday 8th August. In VERY exceptional circumstances and ONLY with the prior agreement of the event Stewards a VERY SMALL number of machines may be scrutineered between 08.00 and 08.30 on Saturday 9th August but they will be subject to 20 penalty points as per ACU regulations.

TYRES: Front and Rear MUST be 'Enduro' type to current F.I.M. specification.

NOISE: Riders are required to have the stroke of the engine clearly and permanently marked on the crankcases, any machine not showing this will NOT be examined. Random noise tests WILL take place during each day of the event. Failure to stop for a noise test will result in immediate exclusion.

REFUELING: Will ONLY allowed at the start/finish area, Refuel 1 (RP1) along a designated section of gravel road at check 3 (CK3) and at Refuel 2 (RP2) situated prior to check 5/1. (CK1) The route to RP1 & RP2 will be signposted from the start.

SPECIAL TEST: Due to the ever growing restrictions and lack of available land we are unable to offer a motocross test. There will be one Cross-country test per lap (Start/Finish of test adjacent). The test will be available for inspection (on foot only) from 1pm Friday 8th August and is accessible from the A40 at Pentrebach, this access will be marked with Green arrows. It is expected that the test will be timed on every lap.

SPECTATORS: Will have access to the test on both days accessible by following the Green arrows along the A40.

ROUTE: From the start riders will proceed through Llandovery and along the A483 to Cynghordy where the route turns right at a very bad junction on the brow of a hill (BEWARE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC). You will then follow the road towards Tirabad before turning right into the forest and check 1 (CK1). This marks the start of the lap within the Crychan Forest. On completion of your designated number of laps, you will follow the road back to Llandovery, to a pre-finish check, at Llandovery Rugby Club.

PLEASE NOTE: Ride safely and quietly through Llandovery and up to the forest and save your energies for the course. There is no advantage to be gained by riding at unreasonable speeds on the road and to do so puts future events in jeopardy.

NUMBERS OF LAPS AND TESTS: The actual number of laps and specials tests per class per day will depend on the weather conditions on the weekend and will be decided before the start but they are expected to be:

Championship - 4 laps day 1, 4 laps day 2

Expert – 3 laps day 1, 3 laps day 2

Clubman – 2 laps day 1, 2 laps day 2

POSITION MARKERS: Could competitors please note that along the route there will be numbers displayed at 1km intervals, these numbers are to help you identify where you are on the course so that if any form of incident occurs you will be able to describe it’s location to marshals, i.e. just after 12 or just before 13 or between 12 and 13 etc.

FINISH: Please make sure that you hand in your timecard at the finish if you retire. The travelling marshals will not thank you if they spend time searching the forest for you when you are warm and safe at the finish.
